Cloverfield?

Back when the Transformers come out in theaters back in July, a trailer was attached to it that had me really really excited and that was a trailer know a different amount of names ranging from 01-18-08, "Cloverfield" and at a certain time The Ethan Hass Project (which I think later found out it had nothing to do with this project).

The trailer was very intriguing it started off show a group of people attending a sort of going away party for a man named Rob. As the party is continuing we see a couple of people say their good wishes and goodbyes through the camera. Everything seems to be going smoothly and then the lights and radio shutters with a loud roar coming right behind. Eventually everyone goes up to the roof to see whats going on. Soon after and in the middle of New York's tallest building a huge explosion goes off. As everyone gets down to the street, there is chaos everywhere and with the final shot we see the head of the statue of Liberty comes flying down the street as if something threw it. That's were the trailer ends.

The real exciting technique that the filmmaker used is the hand-held camera. That alone can either make or break a film in my opinion. although the way the hand-held camera did work here. During the great, tense full one-minute and fifty one seconds I was on the edge of my seat. The hand held made it seem more really and that was very exciting. When Transformers was finished the one thing I was talking about was this trailer. I followed around and even messed with all the viral Websites that had to do with the film from Ethan Hass to Slusho its all been real fun.

Then, the day when I went to go and see Beowulf which was on November 17th. They had shown another trailer for this movie and it was official titled "Cloverfield." As I sat watching it, I don't know maybe because I seen the trailer what seems now a hundred times, but I started to dislike the shaking camera. I was trying to actually see what was going on, because the camera was constantly moving.

I don't know now my expectation are a little bit lower from this. I'm just hoping that It doesn't always seem this way. Although this will defiantly won't stop me from going to see this on January 18, 2008. That just my two cents.
